A new belt that has just joined the Oakside Saddlery line up. The Hereford handmade leather belt is a wide leather belt with a double or twin pronged buckle and two leather loops.
The Hereford has a large double prong West End roller buckle fitted for the ultimate in form and security. The two prongs buckle into matching holes making for a stylish finish to a beautiful hand-crafted leather belt. This twin pronged buckle is available in two widths; a 50mm (2 inch) wide buckle, and the more subdued 38mm (1 ½ inch) wide buckle. The buckle is hand polished for that final mark of excellence.
As with all of my leather items the stitching on the Hereford leather belt is carried out by hand. My signature three lines of hand stitching run along the length of the leather keeping its strength and integrity not seen on cheaper belts. Linen thread is used which is waxed before use. Hand stitching is at 8 stitches to the inch.
Two fixed loops or keepers are stitched to the belt. These loops keep the end of the leather nicely under control when buckled. They are blocked square making for an exceptional finish.
The all-important leather is Bridle Butt supplied by Metropolitan Leather in Northamptonshire. Bridle Butt is very strong and robust with a smooth waxy finish. Marks and scars on the leather make for a truly one-of-a-kind handmade leather belt.Hand-crafted to order ensures a perfect fit and your choice of leather colour and stitching colour provide for a bespoke design.
