Multi-Length Leather Dog Lead

As a working dog handler you have realised that you have a peculiar set of needs for your dog's leads. A long lead for searching vehicles, a short lead for passing through busy traffic, and a medium length lead for searching people! So what do you do? Having lots of different leads for each purpose? Not so easy when you have travelled far from your dog van. What you need is a Multi-length lead from Oakside Saddlery.

My Multi-length leather dog lead can be adjusted from short, medium, and long as required simply by moving a spring trigger hook.

  • Short – with the lead at half its length. Great for close in work.

  • Medium – with the lead clipped with a big handle and short lead. Perfect for every day work, searching people and cars, etc.

  • Long – for when your dog needs room to work. Ideal for searching freight as the lead is long enough for your dog to get right under the lorry without you having to climb under! In this way the clip is connected leaving a small handle and a long lead.

So how do these three length compare. Take a look at the image below for a comparison

So what about when you have walked to your search area and now want to let your dog off the lead to search? Simply connect the lead in to its short length and place the lead around your shoulders like a rucksack. As simple as that!

As always my Multi-length Leather Dog Lead is made from heavy English Bridle leather and hand stitched giving the lead great strength. And solid Brass fittings provide years of rust free use. Visit to order your lead today from ½ inch to 1 inch wide, Black, Brown, and Australian Nut.
